QUARZINA

I've always been fascinated by this tiny rock crystals and my visit to the mine I have bought several pezzi.Questo is the smallest and I wanted to embed all pendente.Come quarzine is somewhat irregular in shape and I struggled a bit to "caging" but thanks to Elsa http://elsa-mycountrylife.blogspot.com/ who explained to me how to proceed properly, I would say that the result is really nice (I I was in love with the beautiful cabo who embedded with this technique). Thanks Elsa

FLUORITE

from an early age I have a passion for gemstones and minerals (passion che ho trasmesso anche al mio primo figlio e a mio marito) e ne abbiamo  una discreta collezione e appena possiamo ce ne compriamo dei pezzi nuovi.

the name derives from the Latin fluere = merge (for its use as a flux in metallurgy), but also by English miners in the Middle Ages who called it "flower (flower) of mineral" because of its beauty derives from the fluorite and the name of the fluorine and the phenomenon of fluorescence. The ancient Greeks cut like precious stones, the Romans used it to build beautiful colored vases. Mohs in 1824 discovered the properties of fluorite to become luminous when heated and this phenomenon called fluorescence (even if it was discovered that it was phosphorescence)
pure is colorless, but often there is a purple, green, yellow, orange , blue, pink, brown, black
